I do not like the heat, by any means. My favorite time of year is the fall, warm days and sweatshirt ready cool nights. This year I find my self getting a bit excited about the hot, humid days. Days were I think if I leave the comfort of my artic condition of my apartment, I might melt in to a puddle. Since I am being laid off, I am looking forward to the summer. Days at the beach with my daughter, the smell of salt water in my nose, the sand in some of the most uncomfortable spots, smell of fried dough on the boardwalk. Sunsets that make you want to cry, cause you have the sight to witness them, and feel sorry for those who can not enjoy it’s beauty. I greet summer this year with open arms, and lots of plans…
A few good things June 3, 2007
I have been busy the past week. I just got my new toy! No it’s not sexual, though it seems that maybe it should have been, but that is a whole other post.
I received as a a late Mother’s day gift, a Nikon D40X! It is a digital SLR for those of you can not speak camera. Now for the longest time I had my heart set on a Canon XTi, but after doing some reading, and actually going to camera stores and playing with both, I had a change of heart and settled on the D40X. So I have been walking around and taking pictures of everything.
I have also been getting my ducks in a row to start this fall semester at the local community college. No, I have not decided what I am going to major in, so I am just taking the general classes. So if I decide to not pick a major and get an associates in General Studies/Liberal Arts I will be more qualified to ask you “Would you like fries with that?” Since I will be unemployed in August, I plan to be going full time. I have applied at the community college, and according to my best friend “a monkey could apply and get in. it’s just a formality.” and I have started my application for financial aid. Depending on what I receive in financial aid, will determine on how many classes I take. I am both excited and scared.
Here are some of the pictures that I took this past week…
