Ramblings of a Girl

My new obsession January 31, 2007

I have been glued to the HGTV channel for the past 2 hours! It is great to watch do over rooms, see what houses sell for, and my favorite, flipping of a house. I love to watch the flipping cause they always find a diamond in the rough, and they do it with a budget, some times going over the budget, but getting more in return cause they did.

Watching all the stress going in to owning your own home, makes me kinda glad that I don’t own a house. I don’t have to worry about mowing the lawn in the middle of a 95 degree heat wave, or plowing the damn snow so I can get my car out. If something breaks, I go and get the maintenance man, point and say “fix it please”.

TAX TIME!!! January 29, 2007

Oh, how I love tax time. Sitting at the computer going through all kinds of W-2’s, hoping for the biggest refund ever!! Well I finished them last night, and I am very happy with what I found. I was able to get an extra $50 bucks from the federal return for having a regular phone line with Verizon for 2 years, and of course my little toddling tax deduction helps out in big ways. With our returns this year we are planning on purchasing a new computer. It’s time, my husband built our current computer, but now it is getting closer and closer to be a dinosaur with new release of Microsoft Vista so we will be upgrading to a 20in iMAC! I can’t wait, it will be weird to be using PC applications on a Mac, but I guess that is the joy of having a dual processor. Some of you why not just get another PC, I am hoping to go back to school in the fall for Digital Photography, and from what I have read and ask around, a Mac is the way to go for editing purposes. What do you plan on doing with your returns? Anything fun?

It’s Time! January 27, 2007

Finally, the time has come for my little family to move to a bigger place. We have been crammed in to a 1 bedroom apartment for some time now, and the opition to get a 2 bedroom has finally arrived. So I am moving in a month, I have such a short time to get everything the way I want it. Any advice on how to make this move smooth?
